| A common European protocol and recognized medical practice. |
|
I note with interest the comments that my associates in mainland Europe make and confirm that we in England have many of the same problems regarding protocols. There is no european agreed training protocol and as we travel across europe we discover that the level of training and the level of care that we can administer to persons in need of help vary. In england as I know in some other countries a trained ambulanceman can give drugs, cannulate, intubate and defib, in France for example the normal ambulanceman cannot intubate or undertake any invasive treatment, what are we to do if when we are in France travelling to our mission we come to a major accident, we have the training and the method to save a life but we can do nothing accept the basics to help. I believe there must be a common agreed European standard of training based on the PHTLS, a common European protocol for drugs and a common European organization for all trained medics that will allow them to practice in all European countries to an agreed safe medical level. The requirement for a European register for Paramedics and trained ambulancemen/women is more important now than ever before. Does anybody agree?. sorry I write in English. |
